Danielle has been a movement educator and studio owner for over twenty-five years. She specializes in movement-based rehabilitation and functional movement training for optimal healing, posture and performance. Danielle danced professionally for over a decade with three of Toronto’s contemporary companies, followed by academic study at the University of Toronto where she received a BA in Literary Studies and the Health Sciences. Danielle has a MA from York University in Dance Theory and Movement Education and a graduate degree from Universite du Quebec a Montreal in Laban Movement Analysis.
She is certified through Stott Pilates, Body Harmonics, and the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA), the governing body for Pilates in North America. Danielle is also a certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist and trained in Pilates-based rehabilitation for Multiple Sclerosis.
While Director and owner of Second Wind® Pilates Plus® in Port Credit, Mississauga from 1998 to 2016, Danielle created her own movement system called Integrated Movement Therapies (IMT)®. She also started her Second Wind® Pilates Plus® Certification program in 1998. Known for its unique combination of Pilates and movement therapy, Danielle’s teacher-training is now one of the longest running and most comprehensive in Canada.
In Collingwood, Danielle continues Second Wind® Pilates Plus® in private practice, and teaches for various studios in the area. She loves cycling, hiking with her dog, friends and family, painting and writing. Danielle is delighted to join the Peak to Shore Team of outstanding medical professionals.
